I ended up buying my ring gear stopper through Suzuki (the Equator is a rebadged Frontier). Cost me about $100 after shipping:
https://suzukipitstopplus.com/Produc...r-stopper.aspx You don't need the special tool to install the tensioner "feet." I use a large, un-bent paper clip to slide in the hold of the tensioner to lick the plunger in place, pop off the old tensioner "foot" with a large screwdriver and press on the new one with a pair of channel locks with plastic covers on the jaws I borrowed off my Sears Robogrip pliers. You can use a rag if you don't have the jaw covers. |
