1997 Pathfinder turns over but won't start
No spark and outputs these codes:
P1320 P0400 P0130 (twice) p1447 Sprayed carb & choke cleaner into the intake with no luck, so I don't think it's a fuel problem. It was running fine, then after turning it off, it just won't start again. Can someone advise me what I need to do to get this beast running again? Thanks |

For now don't put attention to the P0400, P0130 and P1447 codes. All those codes won't cause the no start situation. The P1320 code means that there is a problem with the ignition system, that's why you don't have spark. The possible causes are the resistor, camshaft position sensor or the power transistor unit. All those components are inside the distributor. You should start by inspecting the distributor cap and rotor. If both items are OK, then you may have to replaced the distributor.

Is the power transistor unit the same as the ignition coil? I tested and it seems to have power in, but no power out. I found one on ebay for about $36, but I'm thinking I may be able to get one locally. Advance doesn't even list them. Is my local Nissan dealer the best source?
By the way... thanks for the quick and accurate response. |
