Default 05 PF SE 4x4 won't shift from 4th to 5th gear?

Hello, I have an 05 PF SE 4x4 w/113K miles and it will not shift from 4th to 5th gear, it simply slips as the engine revs. I have put a new radiator, additional oil cooler, and flushed the trans twice with in the last 3 months. It did have the radiator leak, but I think I caught at the start and did the required replacements. There are no MIL's and all other shifts are normal. The fluid looks new and there are no leaks. I am thinking the solenoid is bad or clogged? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

maybe i'm wrong, but catching the radiator leak at the start is too late
once the transmission fluid is coolant contaminated, the trans is compromised, if not ruined
i believe the solenoids are internal transmission components
sounds like you might need a used or re-manufactured transmission
you should get an opinion from a transmission repair shop that has a good reputation, and preferably experience with the damage that this issue results in

Thanks, It's hard to tell with the other shifts being normal w/no issues. I do have an appt. at the dealer late next week. But, I am hoping someone w/a similar issue can give me some insight to keep the dealer from sticking it to me.

Just take it to an independent transmission specialist for their opinion first. Or maybe two places. Then you'll know if the $tealership is jacking you around. It could be your torque converter and the dealership would probably want you to bite on an entire tranny rather than a $1000 tc fix.

Sorry for the late update. The Transmission was fine. The valve control assembly had to be replaced at $1400. Much better than a new transmission. The shifts are fast and crisp on all gears now 2k miles past the repair. The dealer did state the transmission looked fine and doing the flush may have clogged the last valve keeping it from shifting into 5th.
