loose yellow cable engine bay near starter wire harness
Hello All,
first off, I am new, so please let me know, if this forum is only for newer cars, as I am trying to help a friend to get his old 1991 Pathfinder back in good shape. My question: I found a loose, disconnected yellow wire, thin, about 16 gage, coming out from the thick engine wire harness near/under the battery, going to the starter. it has the end isolated in black but it looks like, it came off from somewhere. it is pretty long also, lets say about 2 feet or so. Can anybody tell me, where that comes from/how/where I could test? FYI: The car is pretty run down, in bad shape but it can start and run, so I am not talking about the thick black/yellow starter cable, they are attched normally |

I'll be glad to help you, but I don't remember about a yellow wire. Is there any way you can post a picture of the wire?

Thanks Nissan Tech (whats your first name?)
I'll make a photo asap, either Friday or Saturday. Thanks for your offer to help. Quick other question: - I want to clean EGR and TB, both have paper gaskets. Are they reliable or is it better to use gasketmaker (high temperature) additionally or instead? Best regards, Sebastian |

it is a black-yellow cable, as I found out, it points toward the starter..., like i said, the ground and (+) are attached to starter (solenoid or however it is called) otherwise car wouldn't start... here is a pic:
