Default 97 Pathfinder SE - Hose Near Thermostat

I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder V6 4x4 SE (Automatic.) Nearing 182,000 miles and running strong minus a few minor things. My car over heated the other day so I took it to the only place that could look at it, Pep Boys. I really didn’t want to take it there, but they were the closest place and I really wanted to know what was wrong. They looked at it and said the hose for the coolant that is near (or connects) to the thermostat is leaking. They said it’s a 4 hour job, and will cost $430. They also said I couldn’t’ drive the car off the lot because it’ll leak. Its been a week now and I only have to add coolant to the reservoir every 2-3 days. The leak is small, but I’m taking it to someone highly recommended by a lot of people that does honest work, and a lot more affordable then everyone else. But I guess my question is, $400? 4 hours of labor? I know you have to move things to get to the hose, but I read up on it and it didn’t seem like 4 hours of labor. I know pep boys tends to be expensive and dishonest.

The hose replacement shouldn't take but a couple of hours if you are somewhat familiar with the layout and bleeding process. Big chain stores have BIG overhead.
