No, they will probably recommend another remote. Try one more thing, disconnect the car battery and try reprogramming the remote again, make sure all the doors are fully close (including the back door and hood) and that you closely follow the instructions.

We'll get the remote working.

Questions:

1. Does the dome light turns off when you close all the doors?

2. Does the "Security Light" start blinking when you open one of the doors?

3. When you go inside your vehicle and close all the doors to start reprogramming the remote, does the "Security Light" turns OFF or keeps blinking?

Security light should not be blinking during reprogramming. If the light is blinking it means that one of the doors is open or one of the door switches is damage.

Key out of the ignition:

Door(s) Open: light blinking

All Doors Close and Unlock: light OFF

All Doors Close and Lock (Security System Arm): Light ON for about 30 seconds and then blinking.

How do you know? what type of inspection you did?

You should download the "Electrical System" section of the service manual, all the inofrmation is there. You can download the section free from here: Knowledgebase - 2001 Pathfinder - Nissanhelp.com

When you go through the programming procedure do the hazards flash? If they do then you either have the wrong remote or the remote is no good.

Yes. After you lock the doors, how long do you wait before starting the reprogram?

It's possible, but there are 6 switches on your Pathfinder.
