Angry Mechanic Screwed Up Beloved Pathy and Need Help

Took my pathy to a mechanic for a new knock sensor. He called me after he started messing with the engine and said he bought the wrong part- bought one for a 4 cyl car???

Said he can't fix it for a few days so I told him put it back together and I'll take it somewhere.

He called me and said suddenly it won't start?!?

It was working before he messed with it.

Current mechanic (who I TOWED it to) says it won't pull ANY codes and isn't getting any spark. It wants to crank. He thinks the guy did something to my car that was either malicious or stupid.

He doesn't know where to start. He said all he can do is start looking at wires and components until he sees something weird.

HELLLLLLLP! What kind of things should he check first?

well, i'd first check the coil wire for spark. that'd answer that question. then it would either be good to go or you'd have to follow another lead.

what was the truck doing prior to this event. was it just throwing a knock sensor code?

Why your Path was towed to the shop if it was for the knock sensor?

I agree with momud, you should start checking for spark and fuel pressure.

Where do you live?

Ok, was towed b/c the mechanic did something stupid to it and now it won't start.

There is no spark for any plug but they are all relatively new. Plugs n wires are the first thing the current mechanic checked

Also checked the crank sensor and it seems to be good.

Mechanic thinks it's the ignit. module which I'm scared of. It "cranks" but does not "spark" or "start."

Isnt there NEthing else he can check that might be less costly than a module?

I live in Philly and prior to this it had a knock sensor code and a Misfire Cyl. 6 code.

No other codes.

Fuel lines R fine.
