Vibration under acceleration
When I accelerate with my '03 from a stop or roll through a stop sign, under moderate throttle, I seem to be getting a drivetrain vibration.
It doesnt do it under "normal" light throttle acceleration.....any hints as to what it might be? Truck has 64k miles on it.... |

check the drivetrain.. is it the tranny, diff or drive shaft?

Going to get under there this week.....I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else experianced this yet.

I had this problem went to nissan had them replace catalytic converter. The service bulletin on the shield around the converter didn't take care of the problem and caused a vibration that was hard to reproduce. After replaced there was no more vibration.

Hi All,
I purchased 2008 Nissan Pathfinder few days ago and only 15K on it Excellent Condition I have same problem as described above Once I start going above 45MPH/60KpH I see the gas pedal vibrations RPM is always between 1.5 to 2.5 Dealer Tech has reproduced this problem but saying this is completely NORMAL and acannot do anything as ALL PATHFINDERS HAVE THIS ISSUE Pls advise If there is a sr Nissan Tech out there pls explain why Dealer consider this is Normal Many thanks in advance -Ken |

driveshaft=junk
I have a 05 pathfinder @ 65K mi plagued with problems & the most recent has been BOTH driveshafts. the front has been replace for $300+ & now nissan dealer tells me the rear is going, that will cost $500+. I have confirmed the damage myself so its not like they are duping me or something. Has any one out there had this type of BS with yours SUVs? Also I have never had to write a complaint letter to any company but am considering it for this. I would like Nissan corp to try and explain why at 65K both driveshafts need to be replaced with 2 months on an 05.

I have an 05 and I had the dealer replaced the driveshaft due to vibration. I am now past 60K, and the front driveshaft is vibrating, especially when I take my foot off the gas. I climbed under there and those bolts are on there tight, I think 44 foot lbs. without a lift how the hell do you get those off? I have ramps and the front is up.

Just got back from the dealer. It was the rear drive shaft. They replaced it because the aluminum will be distorted under the stress of removing the U-joints. Cost: $450.00 Not bad, considering I could not get the shaft off lying on my back in my driveway. Both front rotors and brakes needed replacement Cost: $525.00 Bad. I could have done this job easily, but I have no time. I called Nissan and a customer specialist will be calling me, so far nothing. Also, I have owned 4 Nissan's which seemed to bear some weight in their decision, also, they asked if I had it serviced at a Nissan dealership. I said yes, which was true, however I had the oil change done somewhere else. That seemed to bear more weight than owning 4 Nissan's. The girl from Nissan told me that would probably not warrant any help from Nissan. What an oil change has to do with having to replace my drive shafts three times in two years, I will never know. So, tell them you always go to Nissan for even wiper fluid.

So I have had to replace my drive shafts three times. I had to have new rotors on the front. I have the cup holder in the rear fall apart. That little compartment next to the shifter has broken. I have had the plastic molding on the rear hatch completely broken away. I had that rattle that Nissan could not locate (it is a radio harness Clip) new battery, new collision sensor, new O2 sensor, Oh yeah, a new fuel level sender put in, under warranty. And they recently did something to the tire inflation sensor/system. I am worried that the I am hearing that whine from the timing belt tensioner going in the V6. 2005 Pathfinder with 75K. I also own a 2000 Honda Odyssey, which has 185K, and the only repair under warranty was the door latching system. There was a rusty tranny fluid cooling line that leaked and needed replacement, at my cost at 150K. The Ody blows away this Nissan for reliability, and Nissan not calling back has made my choice for replacement of the Honda very easy indeed. Either way, both are made in America.

most vibrations at 45 - 60 is the u-joints in the front drive shaft. Very common. As for the rear drive shaft not very often the rear u-joint fails and has play. As for the aluminum drive shaft distorting when replacing the u-joints I have never had it happen. Gm used aluminum drivaeshafts and all they do is replace u-joints. you have to be carefull when replacing them.

2001 Frontier V6 Desert Runner, with Auto trans. Shudder upon Hard acceleration from stop. Misalignment of the 2 driveshafts, known by Nissan Tech. Repeatable only on Desert Runners with Auto. Nissan Engineers tried shims, twice, still does it. Nissan Tech gave up. Should have lemon lawed it.

I'm having the same issue. I just re-balanced my dick cepek wheels and had an alignment but to no avail. I'm planning to visit the dealer next week.
