Default Air Bag Cutoff Switch for 2005 Z

I periodically babysit my 2 year old grandson and would like to get an air bag cutoff switch installed in my 2005 350Z so I can safely drive him around. I have the NHTSA paperwork and want to order the Nissan kit, but I am having a problem with my dealer. The air bag cutoff switch Service Bulletin, NTB02-123, only specifies 2003 model Z's. My dealer says he can't do he work on a 2005 model. The automatic passenger air bag cutoff system didn't show up until the 2006 models, so the 2004 and 2005 models are left out in the cold. My best course of action is to get Nissan to update the Service Bulletin. What's the best way to go about this?

You can start by calling Nissan Consumers Affairs 800-647-7261. If the have the kit for the 2003 I'm sure they'll have one for the 2005.

I called Nissan Consumer Affairs, but they were clueless. Their reply was to refer me to Corporate Communications, the Nissan PR people, so my concerns went absolutely nowhere.

The problem is not the kit. As far as I can tell from the Service Manuals, the Supplemental Restraint System wiring for my 2005 Z is the same as the 2003. The problem is liability. With the proper NHTSA paperwork, my dealer will order the parts and do the installation for a 2003 model. But, since the Service Bulletin ONLY refers to 2003 models, he won't order the parts or do the work for a 2004 or 2005 Z. Service Bulletins are updated all the time to reflect the new models or other changes. This particular bulletin was issued in December 2002 and has NEVER been updated. So the question remains, who do I contact (aside from Consumer Affairs) to get the bulletin updated so I can make my car safe to carry my grandson?
