Default 05 350z engine swap with 04 motor

hey im new to this forum stuff so take it easy on me lol i have an 05 35th anniversary 350z that i blew the motor in because they are notorious for the oil consumption issues seeing it has the variable cam-timing, i chose to replace it with an 04 motor seeing they are one of the most reliable. i also installed the 04 wiring harness. obviously the computer thinks it still has the variable cam timing so at idle the car likes to bog down, spit and sputter and randomly rev up a little. how do i solve this issue and make all the lights in my car go off? i am mechanically inclined but have never dug deep into my nissan or any sort of foreign vehicle for that matter. are the 350z's E-prom? do i need to just reflash the computer? buy a new comp? or is there some type of programmer i can buy that i can make the car run right and also adjust fuel trim and extras to increase my hp? if some one can please help me out it would be greatly appreciated!! thank you!
