Default 2008 350Z Rear Suspension Rattling

I bought my 350Z new in May 2008 in San Diego, CA. From the outset, the rear suspension rattled when traveling over an "imperfect" road. Dealer kept car for 9 days and replaced rear struts. Problem recurred a month later. Replaced struts again. 3rd, 4th and 5th trips to dealer (tried 2) did not solve problem. Now living in Knoxville, TN and hoping service will be better here. Am I alone with this complaint? The noise makes the car sound cheap, like an old Chevy truck. My wife's Honda is dead quiet. What do I need to do to get Nissan to fix this problem?

It's not easy to diagnose a noise without hearing it and your description of the noise is not enough, but I have a couple question that can help diagnose the noise.

1. Do you have any aftermarket suspension components?
2. Do you hear the noise all the time (cold weather, hot weather, when engine is cold)?
3. At what speeds do you hear the noise?

Thanks for responding.

The noise is most noticeable in the morning while still cold. I hear it at low speeds, typically 0 to 45 MPH. It does not appear to be related to extremes of heat and cold because Southern California has pretty consistent mild weather. I didn't mention that I had the struts replaced for a second time just after the warranty expired and that improved the situation for a short time. The car has only 33K miles. There is a clicking noise and a rattling noise (sounds like a loose component) and I hear the noise in concert with driving over a pothole or unpatched spot on the road or my driveway. This has stumped two dealerships in SOCAL, one in Poway and another in Escondido.

There are no aftermarket components of any kind installed.
The noise is more pronounced when the engine iss still cold, but it continues after the engine comes up to operating temperature.

Thanks,

Bob
