Nissan LEAF named an Autotrader “10 Best Electric Cars for 2021”
NASHVILLE, Tenn – With consumers facing an increasing number of electric vehicle choices every year, Autotrader has announced its selection of the "10 Best Electric Cars for 2021" – a list that includes the original mass market EV, the Nissan LEAF. According to Autotrader, up to 30% of new car buyers are likely to consider an electric vehicle this year. Writing about the 2021 Nissan LEAF, Autotrader noted: "Now in its second generation, it's still a strong contender on the more affordable side of EVs. The styling is sleek, the interior is roomy, and the base price is within reach of a wide range of shoppers." The 2021 LEAF is available in two versions – LEAF and the extended-range LEAF PLUS – to meet the driving needs of a wide range of customers. LEAF comes standard with a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery and 110-kW motor, delivering an EPA range of up to 149 miles. LEAF PLUS has a standard 62-kWh lithium-ion battery and 160 kW electric motor, delivering an EPA range of up to 226 miles. Every LEAF offers a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies, including available ProPILOT Assist, standard Safety Shield® 360 and NissanConnect® services. The 2021 Nissan LEAF has a starting MSRP of $31,670, while the Nissan LEAF PLUS starts at $38,270. First introduced for the 2010 model year, more than 500,000 Nissan LEAFs have been sold worldwide. Autotrader editors selected the 10 Best Electric Cars based on a range of criteria that included the following: Vehicles must be priced under $75,000; the car must have a plug or a way to run on electricity only for 15 miles or more; and the car must be available for sale to the public within the next six months.
