I pulled this from your Service Manual Section DLK - BODY EXTERIOR, DOORS, ROOF & VEHICLE SECURITY

Also - Pull out your Owner's Manual and turn to: 3-6 Pre-driving checks and adjustments - AUTOMATIC DOOR UNLOCK MECHANISM

The automatic door lock/unlock function ON/OFF can be switched by performing the following operation.

1. Close all doors below (door switch OFF)

2. Turn ignition switch ON

3. Press and hold the door lock and unlock switch for 5 seconds or more in the unlock direction within 20

seconds after turning the power supply position ON.

4. The switching is completed when the hazard lamp blinks.

*1: This function is set to ON before delivery.

Default This is for the key off unlock mode. Not shift to park

"RTFM" Was done before posting.

The manual dictactes that it has to be sent to the dealer to get this done. I was looking to get it done without taking it to the dealer.

In short what you are reffering to is when the key is switched in the OFF position the doors will unlock. " This is correctly adjusted"

I need the doors to unlock when shiting into PARK. Which after reading other threads late last night it seems this is something in the software of the vehicle which needs to be done from a laptop.

Thanks for the reply. Hoewever no help.

I just had this done at the dealer. I had read on the forums that it was something that only the dealer could do. My dealer claimed that it was not possible. I insisted that the forums had said that it was and they looked it up and guess what? They said that sure enough it was possible and it was easy to do. It seems misguided of Nissan not to allow the owner the ability to change this as we please, instead of making us go to the stealer.

I had mine done when it was time for the scheduled 7,500 mile maintenance checkup. They didn't charge for it, the doors unlocking when I put it into park that is.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the doors would lock automatically when you move forward like Ford, Chrysler, etc. do!

If Nissan did everything like Ford and Chrysler they would also be on the verge of bankruptcy.

It's kind of sad but I think it is a matter of when not if the big three will go out of business.
Of course it would be devastating to our economy so the government would likely bail them out again.

Default Unlocking Doors in Park for 2016 Nissan Rogue

I find this VERY FRUSTRATING. Every car I have ever owed (6 in the last 13 years) always had it set to unlock doors as soon as the car was shifted into Park. I have tried and tried to accomplish this by reading the manual and reading the posts and it doesn't appear that this is something I can do myself which seems ridiculous. Am I correct that if I take the time to take it into the dealership that then and only then can I get it set so when I shift my Rogue into park all the doors will unlock whether the car is running or not?????
