2005 shift lock solenoid bad?
I'm trying to troubleshoot the dreaded "unable to move shifter out of park" issue that so many Murano owners seem to experience.
I have gotten to the point of removing the shifter plate. I can clearly see the solenoid is not responding. I don't hear a click either when pressing the brakes on and off. The problem seemed to happen gradually over time (to it's present state of not working completely) so I'm hopeful that something is just dirty or got disconnected somewhere, instead of a faulty unit as usually electronics either work or don't work. I was hoping someone could provide me with a component/wiring diagram for anything related to the shift lock solenoid so I can try and look along the whole system to see if I can spot anything "obvious". Any help would be appreciated. |

Does the stop/brake light come ON when you press the brake pedal?
Here is the wiring diagram for the shift release system.
