Am I the only Maxima owner who's ever had a blown engine or head gasket? Would appreciate those with same to chime in.

Thanks,

Bob

Still have not figure what wrong with the car but I priced installation of a junkyard engine w/1yr guarantee for $3,400 and a rebuilt for $4,800 w/5 yr guarantee. Anyone suggest someone in the danbury, CT area I can try?

White smoke is a sign that water/coolant is making it's way into the cylinders. A simple few test can pin-point that.A hydrocarbon test of the coolant system would be the first thing i would do. Also, remove the plugs and take a look at the top of the pistons. If they look very clean the water has "steam-clean" them. The cam sensor would prevent the engine sron starting, so you may start with that. My total response to you would be to take it to a nissan dealer who can put it on a consult monitor and see just what is happening with the engine. With the engine only able to reach 2500rpm it is now in LIMP IN mode. good luck.
