Thumbs down Repair problems

Has anyone tried to resolve issues with consumer affairs or dealership? I get nothing but the run around and no one can answer a question, they put you on hold on phone and lie, lie, lie. What is up. They would not be in business if we did not buy their cars. And we get no support.

Default lie to them

I worked as a service advisor for a few years and learned to few tricks to help customers get issues resolved with consumer affairs. The best way to get them to do anything is to tell them that you have owned several nissans and you are interested in buying another, however if they will not resolve your issue you will be looking at a new toyota because you heard they take care of their customers.
what kind of issue are you having?

Serv adv drives with me says does not feel it. made claim with c/a set up an appt to have 3 master techs inspect. Said inspected found normal. 2 weeks later i took to another service dept. dealer found struts were bad, very bad. so for the last 10,000 since other visits been driving with no struts in front. Loose fuel tank, which they repaired said it was ok. still flopping around. and this bad suspension has caused body to flex and today the windshield broke, no rock. Yes I've tried to call Nissan and work w/ service Dept. It is wothless trail. I've got issues possible like yours w/ a vibration feeling in the steering wheel. They can't feel it (or won't admit) Gave up on that one but now car won't shift into Drive at times, can't go anywhere but reverse.

That sounds like the body may be loose or something. The windshield should not break do to rolling in the corners. That takes a lot of flex within the body and if the body mounts were loose, that would explain the windshield cracking.

I really hate that you are having such a bad experience with your car. I have not had very many problems out of my truck but I have had a lot of problems with local dealerships. I really do not know why Nissan seems to have a re-occurring problem with service. Since I have been active on this forum, I would dare say that is the most common problem here. There are a bunch of qualified guys here though and I'll bet they can help you out.

I have replaced struts on maximas but usually for noises not rough ride. I'm not sure about loose body mounts due to the fact that the maxima is pretty much a unibody car with a front and rear subframe. Not like a truck where the body is mounted on a solid frame. If the body could flex enough to crack the windshield I would expect to see all of the windows break. My guess would be if you look closely you may find a very small impact spot on the glass near the edge of the crack, if not you may just have a defect in the glass.
Note: I have seen some windshields and other glass on nissans break for no apparent reason.Usually glass is covered by insurance if you can't get nissan to cover it. Good Luck!
