2001 maxima dying not idling issue
My 2001 Nissan Maxima has been shutting off every time the car has been coming to a stop, or a slow turn, etc. It was showing a code for the mass airflow sensor, which I replaced, but it is still doing the same thing and occasionally showing the same code. I have also changed the Fuel relay, cam relay, the IAVC (when I had the ECU refurbished) and speed sensor on this vehicle in the past six months. Additionally, now and again when I start the vehicle it will not idle fast enough to keep the car running, but it is sporadic in doing that too. Has anyone else had an issue like this and can you tell me how to fix this issue? Or at least a starting point in troubleshooting it? Thanks.

check MAF sensor
I found my MAF internal solder joints were fractured.
It's under the square black sealed cover and the fractured solder joints are the ones that lead out of the housing to the connector. Just searched and this is _exactly_ the same issue displayed here. YouTube It's possible that a replacement (2nd hand?) MAF also has the fault. It's caused by poor soldering and age...fatigue cracks in the solder. No need to junk the MAF ..remove from car, just carefully remove sealant, prise open the plastic lid cover to access the terminals inside and repair with solder (adequate soldering skills and equipment is presumed). Instant fix, no more stalling and erratic behaviour. '98 Maxima had around 260thou km of city, highway and gravel/rough roads. Last edited by alx0101; 05-05-2020 at 11:55 PM.
