Default Help

So my maxima is stuck in 5th gear so I go ahead and replace the cam sensors 1 and 2 and it’s still stuck and 5th gear so I decided to take it down to autozone and on the way I hear a weird noise so I turn around and head back home and when I got home my belt had shredded it’s self I don’t know how it shredded it’s self. Any clue or help will be greatly appreciated I’m just hoping it’s not the tranny.

Which belt....P/S or the alternator/air conditioning belt? How many miles are on the belt? Is it badly cracked? Have you tried turning the all of the pulleys by hand to check for binding, excessive play or being seized? Have you looked at the pulleys for signs of rust or grease spray from the bearings? Is the belt oil contaminated from a leak?
