Default 2007 Nissan Maxima Transmission Jerking

Heeey y'all, this is my first post and I'm kind of in a pickle here. Title says all. So my cvt transmission jerks as I'm going from 20 - 40 mph. I was low on transmission fluid but I ended up putting in more (NS-2) and that didn't fix the problem. I still owe on the car and it's kind of annoying since I also have to replace the rear control arms and stuff around that. At this point I'm wondering if I should even fix the rear suspension. But if I do, I'm hoping my car survives for a little bit longer. My mechanic said i pretty much have up rebuild the damn thing. I have no problems reaching higher speeds and also drives smooth when I use the paddle shifter thing (automatic transmission). So I don't understand why it would jerk pretty bad while I'm on automatic (Drive) but not when I'm manually shifting gears (drives like a new car). Anyone have any sort of suggestions or how long this transmission might last for? Any help will be super appreciated.
