Wheel Vibration
I am working on a 2000 Maxima.
The Driver Side wheel vibrates, especially around 65mph. I have changed the tyres and the CV joint. Still vibrates. Any suggestions? Last edited by Helicopter 1; 10-29-2018 at 05:49 PM. |

I am fresh-out of ideas of what it could be.
I don't think the wheel bearing is making any noise so maybe it is not that. I jacked it up and let it spin in free air. it vibrates a lot. |

Did you have any instances before the problem? I have a similar symptom but mine started right after I was on the expressway doing some 85mph and some jerk cut me off and I had to brake really hard. I had drifted slightly for a long stretch but luckily did not rear end him. After releasing the brake my car straightened out and now I have a similar shake when I drive above 60 mph. The steering shakes, not violently but its there. I had everything done from links to inner and outer tie rods to ball joints to struts to arms including alignment and wheel balancing right before this moment. Since they're new I am guessing its the brakes or rotors that warped and causing the shake although they look fine to me and no flat tire spot as tires are fairly new. I have no clue whats wrong.

Perhaps the wheel is bent or they didn't balance the tires properly? I know the local Walmart where I live can't do anything but single-plane balance wheels even though they have two Coates wheel balancers that are very capable of dynamic wheel balancing.
