Have you checked the transmission fluid level and condition? From what you described sound like you may have a bad transmission.

Default transmission fluid level...

I did check the transmission fluid level,it appears to be fine. before i changed the cam shaft position sensors, the car ran great except sometimes it would get stuck in 5th gear,so id have to turn the car off then back on and it would work fine, sometimes for 2 or 3 days. it may be the transmission, but could it be the aftermarket cam shaft position sensors causing this problem? thanks for help!

If it's an automatic 5-speed AT, they have had a lot of problems with the valve bodies in the transmissions causing problems. If it's a manual transmission, I would suspect a clutch issue.
