2002 Maxima ABS actuator motor continues to run.
My 2002 Maxima ABS actuator motor continues to run after car is turned off. ABS actuator part number 47660-5Y706. Does anyone know if there is a relay that needs to be replaced and where it's located? Is there a link to a previous thread about this? Stopped at local Nissan dealership parts department. Parts Manager searched for relay which resulted in Horn Relay #2 and #3 being linked to the actuator. Pulling them out does not turn off the motor. Pulling the 40A Fuse in the fuse box next to the battery does. Thanks for any insight.

Unfortunately the relay on your 2002 Maxima is part of the ABS actuator and you cannot replace the relay by it self.

Thank you for providing this information!! It's extremely helpful.
- can I drive the car with the relay stuck on and remove the 40A fuse when it's parked? Will it overheat and cause brake failure? - What if I remove the 40A fuse to disable the motor and drive the car? Will the brakes function normally? |
