Abs code 2001 nissan maxima se anniv ed.
Hello fellow Nissan friends. My ABS light went on and when I went to my mechanic and installed a diagnostic consult, the codes didn't appear on the consult. Is there anyone out there who knows the code so we can determine or pinpoint what the problem is causing the ABS lights to be on constantly? Without this code we cannot determine if it's the sensors (front or rear, left or right), or a harness defect, etc. Now when the light goes on, it automatically transforms to ordinary braking system. The ABS is disengaged. Help would be highly appreciated.

When a ABS component goes bad (ABS sensor, control unit, pump, relay, etc) it triggers the ABS warning light and stores a code in the ABS control unit. Every component has a code, so when you read the code in the ABS control unit you know what component has failed.
The ABS is suppose to reset every time you turn the ignition switch OFF. Next time the ABS light is ON, you should drive to an independent shop or the dealer and have them read the code, when you get to the shop DO NOT TURN THE ENGINE OFF, if you do the code will be erase.

Well, Iw ent to the shop and we found the problem...it was the right rear sensor. It said right rear sensor open....So i purchased the original sensor from a nissan dealer and once placed and a reset was done, the ABS light was gone. Thank you for your inputs on this matter. Much appreciated.
