Default Manual trans ECU vs Automatic trans ECU

Ok guys, I have a 2000 Maxima 3.0 V6 in an off road car. I am running a Mendeola 5 speed manual transmission. I am currently running a ECU for a automatic transmission car. My question is, would I see a performance gain by changing to a ECU from a Manual trans car?

I Never tried using an automatic ECM in a manual vehicle. I think it possible that you may get a performance improvement since the ECU is looking from signals from the automatic transmission, and if doesn't get the signal it may run the engine in a fail safe mode.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping for someone that has done this, that might have some hands on experience with this. I can find the ecu but I need the ignition key and immobliser as well. I have tried to get a new key and reprogram the computer but the lock smith had problems. He gets an error that states "Can't find pin". I have probably removed a wire that I shouldn't have.
