Help. Car dies
My 2000 maxima recently has started dying at stop lights. It takes about 2 tries then it fires right up. This usually happens once with month intervals in between. Except 2 months ago it died and didn't start up. I took it to the shop and the alternator and battery were both shot. After the fix I thought that would fix it but it still is happening. And last time when the time in between it dying got smaller it was right before the battery and battery died. And it's getting smaller in between now! Help please.

Is the engine light ON? are there any codes stored in the ECM? unfortunately there are many things that could cause that problem. Common problems are the Camshaft Position Sensors and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You could start by cleaning the MAF and replacing the air filter.

I was going to recommend the same thing. Check your camshaft sensor - it was giving me those same problems. That little thing can wreak all types of havoc if it goes bad and it's so small and easy to replace.
