Default Where is the ECU?

I have a '96 SE and I'm wondering where the ECU is located? I've have one source telling me it's by the gas pedal (I don't see it), another source telling me it's behind the center console (don't want to tear in to that if I don't have to) and yet another source telling me it's by the glove box?

I want to re-set ECU so I can clear the DTC codes that I have.

The ECU is behind the center console, it has access from the passenger side and from the drivers side. From the drivers side, next to the gas pedal there is a black plastic cover with two clips. Remove the cover to access the ECU. Here is an illustration from the passenger side:
