Default alternator 2003 Nissan Maxima

Hello,

Need Help removing the alternator. So far i have the car on jack stands, right front wheel off, removed the splash shields, and now no idea where to go from here. Not sure how to loosen the idler tensioner. Do I need to remove the A/C compressor?

No, you don't need to remove the compressor.

Here are the instructions from the service manual:
REMOVAL
1. Remove engine undercover RH.
2. Remove side inspection cover RH.
3. Remove radiator.
4. Loosen belt idler pulley.
5. Remove drive belt.
6. Disconnect alternator harness connector and A/C compressor harness connector.
7. Remove alternator upper bolt and lower bolt.
You may be able to remove the alternator without removing the radiator, but it's a little bit tricky.

Here is more information on removal the drive belt: 2000-2003 Nissan Maxima Drive Belts Replacement Procedure | Nissanhelp.com

I hope that helps.

Thanks, I managed to get the alternator out, but now I have another problem. I guess I loosen the idler pulley too much that it fell off. Now I'm not too sure the order in which they go back. I got the pulley, the nut, 2 pulley plate cover, and a spacer and washer. Does the spacer or washer go on first?
