IAC and ECM replaced by dealer, picked up now alternator not charging
My car was stalling out whenever I let go of the gas regardless of speed. I limped the car back to my apartment pulled out the meter to make sure the alternator was charging was getting 13.6 volts, checked for vacuum leaks, etc. Realized I would need a scan tool which I don't have since I'm up at school so I took it to the dealership. After 3 weeks I get the car back just before the dealership closes today.
Get 4 miles away from dealership and the dash lights up like a Christmas tree. ABS, TCS, O/D off light all come on, seat belt light goes out (didn't have belt on). Park the car at the apartment and the car just clicks like battery is dead. Grab my meter 11.6 volts engine off dropped to 10.8 by the time I hooked up the booster pack, started the car, and got the meter from passenger seat and checked voltage with engine running. The dealership was closed by the time i got home. Just wanted to know if there are any connections or grounds that may have been unhooked that may stop the Alternator from charging, are these alternators regulated by the ecm? Has anyone else had a similar experience or is it just the Alternator failing at the perfect time hehe. |

They probably disconnected the battery, but usually you don't have to disconnect the alternator to do the ECM or IAC. Check the battery terminals.
