Found a video for a 240SX, which is very similar to the Maxima as far as the exterior door handle and lock cylinder. It gets to the door lock at 3:29 in the video:

YouTube

Essentially, what you have to do is remove the exterior door handle. Undo the plastic rod clip from the cylinder that goes down to the latch. Remove the 10MM nuts that secure the exterior door handle to the door panel. Remove the exterior door handle assembly. Remove the clip securing the door lock cylinder to the exterior handle. Install the new cylinder and clip. Reverse to install. TIPS: make sure you roll the window up before you remove the door panel and unplug the window switch. Close the door and check the lock and handle operation BEFORE you put the door panel back on.

It's not possible to do these things by your own until or unless you have the tools to operate on it. Even i prefer to hire an expert from a locksmith store named NTB near me to handle such kind of problems.

But latch replacement can't be done by own, its better to hire a locksmith for that.
