2 cap hub RR - part# 43234-ZK30A @ $8.98 each = $17.96 2 sensor ASSY-ANT @$252.03 each = $504.06 1 Brake flush = $65.66 Freight = $45.74 (not sure why the heck I need to pay freight) Labor = $693.62 All together for this pain in the but job = $1692.36 I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT DEALERSHIP (RT 23 Auto Mall llc, Butler, NJ), nor buying a Nissan from them. I feel raped. And they told me I need to replace the ABS control unit in the future. Originally they quoted me $4100 for the job and included replacing the ABS control unit when the flipping thing is working fine. I guess I should be happy I didn't have to shell out $4100? :) |

Hi Guys, i need your advise.. My maxima 2004 182 000km started last week, i have problem with my ABS.. on normal brakes ABS activates.. Some times the lights ABS, SLIP, VDC and hand brake turns all on.. sometimes they off..
I checked with the computer and im getting the DTC "C1110 Controller Failure" I went to dealer today for diagnostic and they said rear sensors and ABS module need to be replaced.. 2800$ +taxes.. For now i just disconnected the rear sensors so i can use my car. I'm confused should i spend 3000$ for a 04 maxima abs at dealer??? |

Abs controller or sensor?
I'm having the same difficulty. No abs light just a hum and the abs kicks in. Only happens periodically and seems to stop when the car warms up. Mechanic says he is getting the code for the controller. Will the above information fix the problem? Can't turn abs off as I loose my speedometer. I already replaced one of the sensors about a year ago. Really can't afford a 2000 repair bill.... Has there been any recalls on this that anyone knows about? Seems to be a common problem. Katy

I'm having the same problem now myself. I'm amazed at how many stories of this problem are out there. There are no recalls, only the TSB NTB07-016b. I've documented the problem and am trying to get some help from Nissan.

Dreaded C1110 ABS Actuator failure
Last week I also got bit by the Nissan ABS design flaw..... I had no real choice but to replace the failed actuator. Even with a decent parts discount the actuator is nearly $1,200! In most situations there is no need to replace any sensors but cleaning out the hub corrosion is essential as that is generally what causes the actuator to short out in the first place.... My bill for the breakdown and cleaning of both rear hubs and the actuator replacement was $2k out the door. In my opinion this is clearly a design flaw by Nissan and the TSB essentially proves it but Nissan won't admit it.

I had the same grinding at slow speed. Replaced both rear hub assy's and both ABS sensors. After reconnecting the sensors near the rear axle, ABS, Brake lights and another light stay on constantly. When driving, the car will hesitate when you try and accelerate. So went back and disconnected the ABS at the rear plugs. I posted this before in hopes there would be a Nissan mechanic on here who could provide some direction. Def not going to the stealership. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Like others I could use some help. The right rear abs sensor stopped working. I'm using a Autel maxidiag 802 and can see that the two front and left rear sensors are giving good steady readings. I've replaced the right rear (rr) bearing with a Moog p/n 512292, and the sensor with a 1aauto piece. I can measure 10 to 11 volts DC at both rear plugs. When I measure AC on the left rear with the wheel turning, I get about .3 volts. Nothing on the right rear.
The DTC's I get are C1105 (rr) and C1111. The car finally went into fail safe mode but at first had no error codes for the abs system. I am going to call Moog to see if this bearing hub has a tone ring. Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated. |

Same issue, replaced both rear hubs and ABS sensors. The light on the dash never cleared, and the car would hesitate at times when you try to accelerate. Not going to the stealership. Just disconnected the sensors in the rear and run without anti-locks. Never had em as kid growing up. Would like to fix however if anyone has a legitimate fix.

Partly resolved
The replacement sensor had a hole that was slightly off causing the sensor to push out enough to not allow a reading. Filed the hole out and now it reads properly. IN the meantime I got a C1111 so I'm resolving that.

C1111 and lights on
After changing the bearing and sensor on the right rear, and doing a little back yard mechanic stuff to the sensor body so it would fit properly, I get the C1111 code. The car went into fail safe (I guess), abs light, slip light, and tcs light are on. The manual says to measure power to the motor, and the ground wire, but I can't help but think it's something simpler. To replace the abs controller is more than the car is worth although it is in good condition.
Any ideas are much appreciated. I suspect that all I had to do was clean out the rust from the right rear sensor, but I replaced the parts anyway. |
