2007-2011 ALTIMA SEDAN, ALTIMA COUPE, SENTRA, ROGUE; CVT FAIL-SAFE CONDITION SERVICE INFORMATION
A Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is designed to go into fluid temperature protection logic mode (“fail-safe mode”) if the CVT fluid temperature rises above a certain threshold. When the CVT goes into fail-safe mode, engine performance is reduced.
Customers may report this condition as “low power” or “reduced engine performance”.
2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN CVT COOLER HOSE CLAMP
On certain 2008 Altima Sedan vehicles equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a CVT hose attached to the radiator may not have been clamped correctly. To avoid a potential for a CVT fluid leak and potential subsequent damage to the vehicles transmission, Nissan will inspect the clamp and reposition it, if necessary, free of charge for
parts and labor.
2007-2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN OBD DIAGNOSTIC REPROGRAM
Nissan has determined that some 2007 and 2008 model Altima vehicles are equipped with an improperly functioning on-board emission-related diagnostic system that violates California standards and regulations. This condition may result in failure of the on-board diagnostic system to warn a driver that the catalytic converter is malfunctioning. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the Engine Control Module (engine computer). If this repair is not completed, affected vehicles may fail an emission inspection or I/M smog check test.
-REVISED- 2007-2008 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN, 2008 ALTIMA COUPE; VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD (2.5L)
Nissan has determined that on some 2007 – 2008 Altima Sedans and 2008 Altima Coupes equipped with the 2.5 liter four cylinder engines, a rattle noise may occur around the exhaust manifold heat shield during start up or at low engine speeds (approximately 1600 RPM). The symptom does not affect the operation of the engine or the vehicle. To address this issue, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to install an exhaust stay bracket, and if necessary, also replace the exhaust manifold heat shield.
