A new entry has been added to Knowledgebase, category 2011 Altima Coupe

Description: 20112012 NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE, ALTIMA SEDAN, ALTIMA HYBRID, MAXIMA, 370Z, MURANO, GT-R; IGNITION SWITCH (PUSH BUTTON) WILL NOT RESPOND
1.The vehicle you are working on falls within the Applied Range of this bulletin

and

2. The following condition(s) exist or the customer reports the following condition(s) occurred:
When trying to start the engine,
  • The instrument panel lights up, and
  • The engine does not crank, (no crank, no start), and
  • The ignition push button is not responsive (no action occurs when the button is pressed additional times).
or

When trying to turn the engine OFF,
  • The instrument panel stays lit, and
  • The engine does not turn OFF, and
  • The ignition push button is not responsive (no action occurs when the button is pressed additional times).

Default Steering lock issue

Some people on the 370Z Forum are recommending that you can prevent the steering lock problem by pulling the steering lock fuse. Is this a viable solution to prevent the problem? Would there be any other issues that we should be concerned about if the fuse is removed?
