I bought my '14 GT-R used with a bit over 3K miles on it, and neglected to make sure it had a window sticker. It has been over a year-and-a-half since I bought it, and both the dealer and Nissan itself said they cannot provide a copy of the window sticker. I am sure that when the vehicle was manufactered, a window sticker was created on a file on some Nissan computer system, so where would that be?

I don't know for what purpose you want a copy of the manufacturer's price sticker or window sticker. It only applies to new vehicles. Sometimes original buyer will leave it in the globe box, if so, then you're in luck.
If you bought the car from the dealer, the dealer is required by law to post on windshield or window the FTC Used Car Buyer's Guide. You usually sign a Form acknowledging receipt. Your documentation should include a copy of The Buyer's Guide given to you by the dealer. So the window sticker you see when you inspect a used car is covered under the FTC Used Car Rule and not by the Price Sticker Act or Monroney Act of 1958. |
