Default What do you think about your Nissan?

I purchased a 05 maxima last sept 2012 with issues I was unaware at the time I was being swindled. The very 1rst oil change at nissan, they informed me that the serpentine belt and timing chain guides were in bad shape as well as a badly needed transmission flush and spark plug change. The car drove well to me but was making a clicking noise upon starting it up. I let Nissan fix everything and OMG, HUGE difference, feels like a brand new car. It flies off and has superior passing power and I love it!

Interesting what gen5djg13 had to say about the ticking noise - My 2005 Altima 2.5SLE has done that since I got as a replacement for my 2008 Corolla that got totalled in an accident in Jan 2012 - It was at the Toyota Dealership 60,000 Km - that is virtually new - some minor body damage, but the Edmonton West End Nissan dealer told me that the ticking was because that engine is noisy and needs to idle for about 5 min first before driving - That helps but it can still be heard.
I wonder why I was told that it was a noisy car and that is all? Is there more to the ticking then a simply noisy engine design? Nicely outfitted car, nice power but honestly, a hog on the gas tank!

Default Nonsense!

There has to be an issue...as it was explained to me, the timing chain never breaks but the guides can be damaged which causes the car to drive "erky jerky" as well as a slight ticking coming from the right side. At 1rst the noise will calm down after the car is warmed up but as it gets worst it just ticks as you drive. Like i said once the problem is fixed you will notice from the first start up and definetly from a ride around the block. I think when ppl hear about labor cost they get scared and just drive until the car dies, then they blame the maker...LOL

I have a 2013 Altima 2.5, the engine noise is soooo loud! sounds like a go cart!!! they need to resolve this issue. Then when accelerating sometimes it bottoms out as if you took off in 3rd gear!

NOT SATISFIED!

Bought my 06 Frontier new September 2006 I think it was. I have ~120,000 miles on it now.
Oil leak at 2nd oil change, dealer could not fix. Tried 3 more times over 50,000miles.
I have had vibrations since around 30,00miles that I blamed on tires - wrong.
Transmission valve body went out at 12,000miles
Fuel sending unit went out at 51,000miles - my dollar
Front hubs replaced around 55,000miles - my dollar
U-joints have been replaced twice
replaced timing chain and tensioners at 72,000miles - my dollar
replaced rear asle seals and bearings at 101,000miles trying to fix vibration issues, but leaking since early 70K miles-ish - my dollar
found left rear axle seal leaking again within months of having them replaced while trying to have front end aligned and tires balanced again to try to fix vibration issues and found bent left rear axle shaft.
Replaced left rear axle shaft - my expense

Bought 98 Jeep TJ new March 1998. It now has ~121,000miles
Replaced cracked exhaust manifold with a header that gave me more power
Replaced fuel sending unit
Replaced radiator

Now May 2016 Frontier is at ~120,000miles and many mods later, and I think it is time to get rid of the Frontier and buy another Jeep Wrangler!
