2016 rogue rear main oil leak
I had just done the 2nd oil change on the 2016 rogue and noticed that oil had been leaking from the weep hole cover between the eng and transmission. Service advisor told me when I called in that it could be Cosmoline dripping down. Am I missing something here!!! I'm an air crafter all my career and I have been and used Cosmoline for corrosion on aircraft. I damn sure know the difference between leaking oil and Cosmoline. It goes in the shop April 25, 2017. Can't wait to hear another B.S. Answer.

Nissan uses an assembly lube when they assemble the engine, transmission and transfer case. The heat generated from the engine causes the excess to run down and out of the hole. Clean it off with some brake cleaner or degreaser and see if it comes back. If it doesn't then you should be ok. Obviously if it comes back then something is leaking.

Took it to the dealer, they added dye to the oil and we will have to drive it 500 miles or so to make sure that it's not an eng leak, mechanic said it might be the transfer case. We will see
