2010 xterra flashing air bag light
Dealer says the passenger seat cusion must be replaced for $1980.00 for a flashing air bag light. Told the sensor can not be replaced by itself on a 2010 Xterra. Is this correct? Also told the driver air bag may not deploy because the passenger sensor has a fault. Is this also correct?

It could be the Crash Sensor which is fairly easy to replace. Before replacing parts, take it to another shop for SRS diagnostics to confirm what dealer says. Or you can do it on your own. You will need the Manual for code definition. Follow the link below. The vehicle is Nissan Sentra but I believe the procedures is applicable to other Nissans.

Thanks Benny. I have an appointment to do just that next week. Will check on the crash sensor.
