Reception problem with stock radio
I have a 2004 Frontier crew cab 4 x 4. Since I bought it new, the radio has never recieved great reception. My wife has a 2000 Honda Accord coupe and that stock radio gets great reception. The same station on her radio comes in poorly on mine. I've checked the antenna and wiring and can't find any problem with them. Has anyone experianced this with a stock radio. It's an AM, FM CD stock radio with 6 speakers.
Thanks for any help you can give. |

I have a 98 frontier 2wd and the radio reception sucks, ive replaced it with an aftermarket and the problem is fixed, the year is kinda off from yours and I never had a cd player in mine but maybe this will help somewhat?

My 04 xterra doesn't have good reception either. Some of the old pathfinders had the same problem, and the factory recommended to add a ground wire between the hood and the right front fender.

I can't believe that Nissan puts cheap radios in their cars and trucks. My wifes stock Honda radio is great. I didn't want to spend anymoney putting another radio. I will try the wire trick and hope it does something.

Yuppa! I have a 2004 and my radio reception isn't the best. Fortunately, when I take trips I plug in my XMRadio.
