Default 4wd questions and diff lock

When engaging 4HI the system may take 5 seconds to engage and at time longer, sometimes instant. The annoying part is disengaging the 4WD, the lights just blink forever, if i reverse i can get it disengage, if i turn sharp then it also disengages..Norma?

Also, in 4LO when i engage the diff locker, the light blinks and does not engage untill i start gasing and moving forward, shouldnt it just engage and turn on as soon as i flip the witch?

No matter what, if i flip the witch and dont move the vehicel it will not engage.

I am concerned as i purchased the frontier with miles and want to make sure the 4WD system is not broken or damaged..

The differential has to turn in order for the diff to lock
