Default Frontier Intermitten starting

Hi all.
I am running into a problem starting my 2001 Frontier. I thought I had this figured out, but it's come back.
Basically my truck will intermittently start. I will start my car at 7 am and it has a problem starting. Like, only the lights will come on and nothing else. No clicks, no sounds at all. Up until now, all I had to do was tap my "Identity" key chain a few times on my dash, and then the car would start up no problem. In the summer it happens a lot more due to sacramentos heat. My trick is not working anymore.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on this problem. I DO have a replacement identity keychain, but it seems to me that this should not be happening, regardless.

Thanks

Is that an after market (identity) module? Did your 2001 come with this option? If not, who makes the module?

Default Aftermarket Identity

I don't think it is. I bought the truck used from a dealer. They gave me the backup identity keychain. I just haven't opened it up yet to try it out.

You were totally right! I opened up the box of the backup keychain and it's a company that installs alarms and sound systems.

Good call!

Default keychain battery's

I called the alarm company. The guy basically said if the keychain has any red lights when you're pressing it - then your battery is dyin'.

Went to Radio Shack - got the watch battery for $4.99 and popped that sucker in. Works like a charm!

Thanks for the help.
