Frontier Intermitten starting
Hi all.
I am running into a problem starting my 2001 Frontier. I thought I had this figured out, but it's come back. Basically my truck will intermittently start. I will start my car at 7 am and it has a problem starting. Like, only the lights will come on and nothing else. No clicks, no sounds at all. Up until now, all I had to do was tap my "Identity" key chain a few times on my dash, and then the car would start up no problem. In the summer it happens a lot more due to sacramentos heat. My trick is not working anymore. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on this problem. I DO have a replacement identity keychain, but it seems to me that this should not be happening, regardless. Thanks |

Is that an after market (identity) module? Did your 2001 come with this option? If not, who makes the module?

Aftermarket Identity
I don't think it is. I bought the truck used from a dealer. They gave me the backup identity keychain. I just haven't opened it up yet to try it out.

keychain battery's
I called the alarm company. The guy basically said if the keychain has any red lights when you're pressing it - then your battery is dyin'.
Went to Radio Shack - got the watch battery for $4.99 and popped that sucker in. Works like a charm! Thanks for the help. |
