I swapped 2 plugs today for a diagnostic test (was runnin' fine , even after SES lit up today) .
When I pulled #1 , I thought I heard oil going into cylinder . And oil dripped off the plug . Same thing , #2 - sounded like MORE oil , and a few more drops from pulled plug . After plug swap , she smoked for 5 minutes , then was runnin' just as well as before . Plugged drain hole in back of head ? No oil pressure problems ; O/C every 5k miles .................

Is the oil from a leak in a valve cover gasket? And just dripping into the recess, getting into the cylinder when the plug is removed.

No - valve cover gasket replaced 2 years ago ; no leaks .
Only thing I can think of is plugged oil drain from head back to crank case , but no reason for that - no oil pressure problems , and it hasn't blown V/C gasket (which it should do , if too much pressure from oil pumped up top , and not returning ) . |
