Need Help with Intermittent Start/No Start?
I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier, manual transmission, 4.0. For the past year or two, it would give me an intermittent start. I thought due to the battery terminals and would give them a wiggle and it would start. It didn't do this consistently and would go months without an issue sometimes. The problem became more prevalent and I realized all I had to do was open the door and hang my left leg out, right foot on the clutch, and I could get it to start easily. This worked for a while and nearly every time I did this it would start. In the last couple of weeks, it was giving me more problems and has finally not been able to start anymore.omegle discord xender
When trying to start, many times it won't even engage the starter and only the electrical comes on. Up until recently, as soon as it would engage the starter, it would start immediately. Lately, this has changed and it will crank a few times before starting. Last edited by SolomonShawn; 04-16-2020 at 07:42 PM. |

You need to address the connection's at the Batry. If the Cable Clamp's won't tighten up on the Batry Post's you can get Metal Terminal Cover's that will enlarge the Post's so that the Clamp's will tighten up. If there is Terminal Corrosion, Clean the post's and Clamp's up with Bakeing Soda and Water Solution, then rinse the Corrosion off, Be careful not to get any bakeing soda in the Cell's. Once the Batry is Cleaned up,, apply a Thick coating of Multipurpose Grease on the Clamps' and Post's with the Clamp's attached, that will prevent corrosion on the Batry Post's in the Future. Use a Wooden Stick to do this. Don't use anything metal to put the grease on,, as it is very ease to create a Short at the Positive Terminal to any metal going to Ground. If the Batry isn't the problem,, then the Clutch Safety Starter Lockout Switch may be the problem; The switch should be somewhere in line with the Clutch Pedal Arm. It may be broken in pieces' or it may just not be functioning properly and need replaceing. Good Luck,

Check the plastic plug on the clutch pedal arm, these break readily, and push down the actuator on the safety switch. Many JB Weld a penny over the hole where this was to fix.
