confirming issues
After a brief absence(I had a 1997 truck but the engine died with well over 350,000 miles!); I recently purchased a 2005 Frontier 4x4 with only 97,000 miles.
1) Got a pesty P0420 code. I have changed out the front O2 sensor with no luck. Is it safe to say the next item would be the CAT converter? Any recommended ones to buy? 2) I hear a clicking noise under the truck and it is speed related; only hear it when the truck is stopping. Previous topics on the forum indicate it could be the universal joints. If I put it in four wheel drive, the noise stops. Is this the joints for the front wheel drive causing the clicking noise? 3) Ever so often the TPMS light goes off but the tire pressure is good. How do you tell which sensor is going bad? |

Nice. But if V6 engine and automatic, bypass the ATF part of the radiator, or replace the radiator if it by chance still has the factory one. And NOW !!! 2005-2010 had notoriously bad radiators, destroy both engine and transmission when the go bad.

Blackie, For me the TPMS is too much trouble and Too Expensive to Fool with. So far mine are functioning fine @ 6 years old,, but I expect them to start malfunctioning soon. Get a 3 to 10 gallon Oiled air compressor @ Harbor Freight and a good air Gauge from EBay, Amazon, or Harbor Freight and monitor the Tire pressure yourself. IMO TPMS is meant for those that Never Pop the Hood, Never Check Fluid Level's, Let the Battery Post's Corrode till repair is required, and otherwise never do much of any preventative maintenance themselve's and complain about repair cost and quality of repair work done by other's. When the time come's to get New Tire's I plan on Replaceing the TPMS with Rubber Valve Stems or metal stems with lock nuts. Regards
