Default 06 FRONTIER, transmission indicator shows D while in P

Please help looking for advice, my son purchase a 06 nissan frontier, just drove home off the car lot. As soon as he removed the key transmission indicator shows in D drive while shifter is in P park. Removed center console, had slack around shifter linkage, put on a car hauler and brought to a local nissan dealership. They changed transmission valve assembly and shifter linkage. Was told truck was fixed went to pick it up and truck would not start still doing the same issue. Technician told us truck ran fine for 3 to 4 hours prior to us showing up at the dealership. Any help appreciated I was told possibly a park neutral switch.

The PNP switch is not available separately; it is part of the TCM/valve body assembly, which you claim the dealer just replaced. It sounds like they didn't fix your truck properly, so I would take it back to them. If they don't want to fix it or can't, I would request a refund for the parts because they obviously misdiagnosed it. If they don't want to cooperate or can't fix it, I would suggest you contact Nissan's customer service hotline @ 1-800-NISSAN-1 and ask for help. They may send you to another dealer with a better track record or even send a Nissan service rep to the dealer to help figure out the problem.
