Question Data connector fails to link to OBDll-08 Frontier

When I plug in my OBDll to the data link connector key on engine off, the link fails and will not connect electronically. Power is present . What should I check for trouble cause ?

So OBD2 doesn't connect or read? On my 2005 Yukon that happened, and the cigarette lighter fuse had blown, and that was the cause and the fix. And wasn't labeled in the owner's manual or the fuse layout diagram, just stated "cigar".

If its a Bluetooth OBD II diagnostic tool, I have heard of problems with some of them connecting to some Nissan vehicles. If the fuses are good, you might take your truck to a place like Autozone and see if their tool with connect. If it won't, then you'll have to go to the factory service manual "Engine Control" chapter and go through the diagnostic steps for the symptom of "no communication with ECM." That service manual section should be in this site's "knowledge base" section.
