Question crankshaft position sensor replacement

Does anyone know or has experience in replacing a crankshaft position sensor on a 1999 3.3ltr engine located on the bell housing facing the flywheel ?
I was wondering if this could be done from under the vehicle either on ramps or a lift.

Easiest way without taking anything apart would be standing under the vehicle using a lift and reaching up to it. I think it would be pretty awkward (if not impossible) trying to get it from under the vehicle using ramps. I've heard you can get to it from the top if you remove the upper intake plenum.
