Default 2002 Frontier 4x4 SE

Brake pedal very spongy. Bled brakes, but not any better. Any suggestions? 2002 Frontier 4x4 SE

Were the brakes OK like 2 months ago? Or - being your first post - is this truck new-to-you so you don't know? If new-to-you, might be a good time to also check the lining thickness on the brake pads and brake shoes, low thickness could also be involved here...

Anyway, my 1998 and 2004 2WD Frontiers have excellent brakes, way better than my B2200 truck. So if you don't want to have an independent mechanic fix this, you need to make sure that there is no leakage -even small - at the master cylinder (maybe between booster and MC or from the any of the calipers or wheel cylinders. If no external leak, could be an internal leak inside the master cylinder.

I must also say that in 13 years with the 1998 and 6 years with the 2004 Frontier, I have not had to replace ANY of the brake hydraulics; I cannot say the same with that 1988 Mazda B2200....
