Default Knock Sensor relocation didn't work?

Hi there. My truck quit running while in motion. The engine just cuts out as if something was wrong with the electric system. It did not throw a code. I replaced a battery terminal that was loose. Still didn't re-start. Ii used the NAPA code reader and got bad knock sensor (KS) even thought the check engine was not on. So I look into replaceing the KS. I find out how hard it is but that one could relocate it. So i watched 3 videos on relocation and did the work my self. The truck is doing the same thing now. it will start sometimes and run for awhile but it shuts off after a few minutes (10 min or so) Any advice? I was careful to connect the sheath wires to the sheath wires.

Thanks

The KS will not cause the engine to shutdown. Since engine fires but stall, you can start with fuel pressure test as you might have a failing/failed fuel pump.

Fuel pump is a possibility, but more often a failing distributor causes this kind of issue. It'll heat up and fail, causing a no spark condition. Then, it'll cool down if let to sit for a little while and will start working again. So, what you need to do is to get the vehicle into it's stall/no start condition and check for a lack of spark. If there is spark to the plugs, then spray some carb cleaning into the intake and see if the engine will fire up on that. If it won't run unless you spray carb cleaner into the engine, then it's a fuel delivery issue and would be time to start looking at the fuel pump and circuit. I'm assuming this is a VG33E engine. As mentioned, knock sensor won't cause a no start or drivability issue. If there is an engine drivability issue, it could, however, cause a knock sensor code to trigger.
