Loud Noise During Acceleration
I have a 2007 Frontier w/about 110000 miles and have been noticing lately that when I try to accelerate quickly at about 40-mph I get loud clicking sounds (like a playing card in a bike wheel spoke) that gets really loud the more the engine is torqued, say going up a hill. The sound stops if I release the accelerator. The sound seems to be coming from the rear of the engine compartment which makes me think transmission but the truck seems to be shifting ok, I notice when I drop back to around to 40 again and re-accelerate, its seems slow to shift. So 40 - 60 mph seems to be the noisiest window - above that speed, all seems good. I have read on forums that this could be a value, lifters, rear diff, trans - any ideas from this group?
