Rough running engine
Id like to see if anyone has ever had this problem. Here are the facts: 1997 truck, KA24e engine, manual trans., about 20,000 miles on new plugs/wires/etc., new fuel filter. Idles smoothly
Problem: Runs extremely rough when cold, after about 10 minutes of driving problem goes away, runs smoothly and plenty of power. I pulled the codes and I have a P0705(range sensor) and P0400 EGR valve. Is the valve bad causing this problem? |

Sounds like you may have excessive carbon built up in the engine. You could start by removing the EGR valve and cleaning all the carbon from the valve and anything you can from the engine. You could also try to add fuel additive to clean the carbon from the engine.
