Default Cost for replacing the Knock sensor on my 2004 Frontier

Does anyone know how much it might cost to replace the Knock sensor on my 2004 Frontier crew cab V6? I only have a 10 day extention on my inspection. It won't pass until it's fixed and i'm worried how much it will cost.
I drove it on the highway to see if it would clear the code but it did not.

thank you for your help and advice

Around $400 labor + parts. Depends where you live and the shop labor rate.

It should pass smog with the knock sensor code. Here in CA will pass smog with the sensor code.

Default Cost for replacing the Knock sensor on my 2004 Frontier

Thank you for your quick reply. I live in NY and my mechanic said if the code does not clear out then it will not pass inspection. After he cleared it he told me to drive it on the highway for a while to see if it clears the code. It did not so he wants me to drive it on the highway this weekend and Monday if the code does not clear out he will have to get me a 10 extension and I will need to get it fixed and it's not an easy job. He charges $90 per hour labor but he is very honest. I've been going to him over 15 years now.

Thanks again for the quick reply,
Al

U do know on the 4 bangers many folks have relocated the knock sensor, cost bout 100$'s and an hours work. Seems most everyone that's done it has had no problems. It is my understanding that this quick fix doesn't work on the 6 cylinder

I've heard of a lot of people that have relocated the knock sensor on the VG33E engine with no further problems. They usually use a 95 Maxima knock sensor and subharness and splice it into the EGI harness wires for the knock sensor. I believe there's a thread on these forums somewhere. Google search should be able to pull up info on it and I believe there's a few videos in YouTube showing the procedure.
